Erica is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2008 in recognition of her expertise.
She has extensive experience in the management of musculoskeletal conditions, currently working in both the public and private sectors.
Erica holds the advanced scope position of Specialist Physiotherapist in the Back Assessment Clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, working closely with the Orthopaedic Spinal and Neurosurgeons and leading a multidisciplinary team. She was one of the original physiotherapists in this position in Queensland and was involved in establishing the advanced practice position within the PAH Spinal Surgical Services.
Erica has a strong commitment to lifelong learning, having completed her physiotherapy studies at the University of SA and then postgraduate studies through Curtin University, University of Queensland (Masters of Physiotherapy 1997), and University of Melbourne (Radiology for Physiotherapists 2011 and Pharmacology for Health Professionals 2013) and Commerce at UQ in 2018. She has worked as a research assistant and treating physiotherapist on various research projects.
Erica has been involved in post graduate clinical education for many years and is a visiting lecturer on the Musculoskeletal Masters Course at University of Queensland. She is passionate about pathways for career development and recognition for clinical physiotherapists. She has been an invited lecturer at various universities in France, assisting with their pathway to primary practitioner status. She is a member of the Scientific Committee for the Organization for Musculoskeletal Therapy, France.
